Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday made a bold promise during a public address, stating that by June 2025, every household in the state will have access to electricity, tap water, and toilets. He credited the NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for driving Bihar’s development forward.
"The government which was in power before our NDA government was formed here in Bihar did not do any work... Did the previous government ever do anything for women? ... We have done much work for women," Kumar said, attacking previous regimes led by the RJD-Congress alliance.
Praising the central government, Kumar said, "PM Modi is doing such a great work for the development of Bihar... It is a matter of happiness that the central government has recently decided to conduct a caste census... Earlier also, it was we who were actually demanding this..."
