The swearing-in ceremony of the new Bihar government is scheduled to take place on November 20 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) expected to attend. The event will mark Nitish Kumar’s return as Chief Minister for a record 10th time, reaffirming his status as one of India’s longest-serving regional leaders.
Ahead of the ceremony, Nitish Kumar is set to meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Wednesday to formally tender his resignation and stake claim to form the new government. He is also expected to submit letters of support from all NDA allies, ensuring a smooth transition.
According to media reports, the Janata Dal (United) will elect Nitish Kumar as its legislature party leader on November 19, a key procedural step before he takes oath as Chief Minister once again.

Sources indicate that a broad-based cabinet representing all NDA allies is being finalised. The tentative list of ministers expected to take oath includes leaders from the BJP, JDU, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM).
