In a sharp statement aimed at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday asserted that her government has taken bold steps in the education sector that will directly benefit children and their future, while also challenging profiteering in the field of education.
"This is the first time that any government dares to stand with parents openly," Gupta said, addressing a gathering on education reforms. She took a direct dig at AAP, stating, "AAP is looking around, thinking, 'What has happened? BJP has done the work that they won't be able to do.'"
Gupta emphasized that the new act introduced by her administration is focused entirely on benefiting students, not private interests. "The act we made will fully benefit children, their future, and their education," she said.
Highlighting the government’s strict stance against commercialization in education, she remarked, "If you work in the field of education, you should see yourself as providing a service to society. If you are looking for a way to earn money from this, unfortunately, you won't get much help in Delhi."
The Chief Minister reaffirmed her commitment to improving both government and private schools in Delhi. "In both private and government schools, the Delhi government will provide numerous facilities to children and develop Delhi's educational infrastructure," she declared.
