In a provocative claim, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya has accused TMC Lok Sabha MP Kalyan Banerjee of using a derogatory term inside Parliament. The accusation has ignited a fresh wave of political controversy.

On Thursday, Malviya took to X (formerly Twitter) to make the sensational allegation. "Mamata Banerjee?s close aide Kalyan Banerjee, much like his leader, is a foul-mouthed oaf. Yesterday, he used the word '??????' which means 'd*ck,' referring to Treasury benches. This is the level of TMC MPs. Uncouth, unruly, low-level goons, who are epitomes of gutter-level politics," Malviya wrote. Along with his statement, he shared a three-second video clip of the Lok Sabha proceedings that allegedly captured the moment.

The controversy comes at a time when tensions between the BJP and TMC are particularly high. Abhishek Banerjee, TMC?s national secretary, had recently criticized the Modi government during a discussion on the 2024 Budget. Banerjee, who had taken a medical break from political activities, denounced the budget as lacking vision and accused the BJP government of favoritism towards coalition allies like JDU and TDP. He further claimed that the budget was designed to secure support from these allies while neglecting other states.

The heated exchange in Parliament between Speaker Om Birla and Banerjee over various issues, including farm laws and demonetisation, added to the charged atmosphere. Banerjee?s sharp criticism of the budget and the BJP government?s policies intensified the political rhetoric.

Kalyan Banerjee has previously been embroiled in controversy, including an incident in December last year where he allegedly mimicked Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar during a protest outside Parliament.

As the debate continues, the accusations and responses from both sides highlight the ongoing friction and drama in Indian politics. The situation remains fluid, with both parties likely to use this controversy to further their respective agendas.
