Ministry of Home Affairs, the decision was taken after an urgent review of the Chief Minister’s threat perception. With the upgrade, CRPF’s elite security commandos will now guard Rekha Gupta round-the-clock, supported by advanced surveillance systems, escort vehicles, and close protection units.

The move comes just days after Rajesh Bhai Sakariya, a resident of Rajkot in Gujarat, allegedly attempted to attack Gupta at her Civil Lines residence. The shocking breach of security triggered massive political uproar and raised serious concerns over the effectiveness of existing arrangements managed by the Delhi Police.
