Delhi Assembly Polls: Pappu Yadav Criticizes BJP, Says Kejriwal Surpasses Modi In Deception

Independent MP and Congress supporter Pappu Yadav launched scathing attacks on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) while campaigning for Congress candidate Anil Kumar from the Patparganj Assembly seat. Yadav accused both parties of corruption and failing to address the real issues concerning Delhiites.

Speaking to ANI, Yadav alleged, "Narendra Modi and the BJP have nothing to do with Purvanchal. The BJP’s politics revolves around four issues—Hindu-Muslim polarization, Adani's wealth, misuse of the Election Commission, and weaponizing ED and CBI. They don’t care about the country."

He took a direct jibe at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, stating, "I have seen Narendra Modi lie in my life, but Kejriwal has surpassed him. He promised not to become a VIP, but now he’s the biggest VIP in the world. Whether it’s Paris-like streets, the Yamuna cleanup, or Mohalla Clinics—none of these promises matter. If anyone has done the most corruption in the shortest time, it’s him. The BJP is corrupt, but no one is more corrupt than AAP."

Yadav also noted that many people now recall the governance of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit with nostalgia. "People remember Sheila Dikshit for her contributions, whether it’s the metro, making Delhi greener, or maintaining law and order," he added.

Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit also criticized both AAP and BJP for failing to address unemployment, a pressing issue in Delhi. "Unemployment is a shared grievance among Delhiites. AAP and BJP are offering no viable solutions. Welfare isn’t about distributing free items; it’s about creating schools, hospitals, and housing," Dikshit stated during his campaign.

The Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5, have become a three-way contest between the BJP, AAP, and Congress. The counting of votes will take place on February 8, with 699 candidates vying for 70 assembly seats.

The Congress, once a dominant force in Delhi with 15 consecutive years in power under Sheila Dikshit, has struggled in the last two elections, failing to win a single seat. In contrast, AAP has been the dominant force, securing 67 and 62 seats in the 2015 and 2020 elections, respectively, while BJP won three and eight seats in those years.
