As Delhi votes in the crucial assembly elections, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), questioning its governance record.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gandhi urged voters to remember the issues plaguing the national capital. "While voting, remember who is responsible for polluted air, dirty water, broken roads. Who committed the biggest scam in Delhi while talking about doing clean politics?" he wrote.

He further made an emotional appeal to the electorate, emphasizing that every vote cast for Congress would safeguard people’s rights and uphold the Constitution. "My dear brothers and sisters of Delhi, I appeal to all of you to go and vote today. Every vote you give to Congress will protect your rights, strengthen the Constitution, and put Delhi back on the path of progress," Gandhi stated.

Meanwhile, polling is in full swing across Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies. As per Election Commission data, the national capital recorded a voter turnout of 8.10% till 9 am. The North East district saw the highest polling at 10.7%, with Mustafabad leading among constituencies at 12.43%.

This election is a high-stakes battle, with AAP seeking a third consecutive term on the back of its governance and welfare schemes. However, both the BJP and Congress are looking to regain lost ground. Key battlegrounds include constituencies such as New Delhi, Jangpura, Kalkaji, Okhla, Mustafabad, Bijwasan, Kasturba Nagar, Greater Kailash, and Patparganj.
