A shocking murder has rocked Ghaziabad’s Rajnagar Extension after a landlady was allegedly killed by her tenant couple over a rent dispute and her dismembered body hidden inside a suitcase.

The gruesome incident took place on Wednesday at Aura Chimera Society, where the victim had gone to collect pending rent from a couple who had reportedly not paid rent for the last five to six months. According to preliminary information, an argument broke out inside the flat, which later turned violent.

Police officials said the couple allegedly murdered the woman inside the rented apartment. In an attempt to destroy evidence and evade arrest, the accused are suspected to have cut the body into pieces and concealed them in a suitcase, which was then hidden under a bed inside the flat.

The crime came to light after neighbours noticed that the landlady had gone missing for several hours. Growing suspicious, residents checked CCTV footage installed in the society. The footage reportedly showed the woman entering the tenants’ flat in the evening but never coming out.

Alarmed by this, residents confronted the couple and informed the police. When society members entered the flat, they discovered the woman’s body stuffed inside a suitcase. The accused allegedly attempted to flee but were caught before they could escape.

The police rushed to the spot and took both accused into custody. A forensic team was called to examine the crime scene, and the suitcase containing the body was seized for further investigation. Police are questioning the couple to determine the exact sequence of events and whether the murder was premeditated or occurred during a heated argument.
