Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday took a sharp dig at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing the party of promoting criminal politics by fielding the son of late gangster-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin from Siwan. Addressing a massive public rally, Shah said the move exposed the RJD’s continued association with lawlessness and “Jungle Raj.”
“Lalu’s party has given a ticket to Shahabuddin’s son, Osama, in Siwan. While handing over the ticket, Lalu’s son shouted, ‘Shahabuddin Amar Rahe,’” Shah said while addressing the gathering. “Listen, Tejashwi, there’s no place left for Osama and Shahabuddin on this land of Bihar, this land of Seemanchal,” he declared amid loud cheers from the crowd.
The Home Minister accused the RJD of glorifying criminals and warned that the people of Bihar will not allow the return of “Jungle Raj.” He said, “The people of Bihar still remember the fear and lawlessness during RJD’s rule. They want development, not crime. Prime Minister Modi has given a new direction to Bihar’s progress — from roads and railways to education and employment.”
