Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a sharp yet veiled attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of neglecting Delhi’s development, while vowing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would ensure the capital becomes prosperous and future-ready.

Modi was speaking at the inauguration of the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II, two mega projects expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and boost connectivity.

Without naming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Modi said, “Some parties have wasted years of Delhi’s growth potential. Instead of working for the people, they tried to create divisions and spread misinformation. But BJP’s politics is of progress, not poison.”

The Prime Minister also underlined the political significance of the moment, stressing that for the first time, the BJP holds power simultaneously in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. He claimed this alignment would pave the way for faster execution of inter-state infrastructure and water-sharing projects.

Taking a direct jab at AAP’s earlier campaign on water issues, Modi said, “They tried to pit Delhi against Haryana by claiming that Haryana is poisoning the Yamuna waters. The truth is, while they thrived on propaganda, we are delivering real solutions.”
