A devastating fire broke out at the Riya Palace building in Mumbai's Lokhandwala Complex on Wednesday morning, claiming the lives of three people, according to civic officials cited by news agency.
The fire started around 8 am on the 10th floor of the residential building located on 4th Cross Road in Andheri. Emergency services were immediately alerted, and firefighters rushed to the scene.
Three residents, Chandraprakash Soni (74), Kanta Soni (74), and Pelubeta (42), were critically injured and transported to Cooper Hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared them dead upon arrival, confirmed civic officials.
The blaze was brought under control by 9 am, according to fire brigade personnel. While the cause of the fire remains unknown, investigations are underway to determine what led to the tragic incident.
The incident has left the Lokhandwala community in shock, and authorities have urged residents to follow fire safety measures as investigations continue.
