AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday strongly condemned the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam and called it a glaring example of intelligence failure. Drawing comparisons with past attacks in Uri and Pulwama, Owaisi described the latest incident as even more painful, dangerous, and condemnable.
Speaking to reporters, Owaisi held the Narendra Modi government accountable, urging it to review the effectiveness of its deterrence policy and to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice without delay. He also called for a thorough investigation to identify lapses and fix responsibility.
“The terrorists indiscriminately killed innocent people after asking their religion in Pahalgam. We strongly condemn this. We expect the government would take strict action. Another important thing is that this is also an intelligence failure,” he said.
Owaisi emphasized that the intention behind the attack, carried out by terrorists from a neighbouring country, was to instill fear and sabotage peace in India. He labelled the incident a "massacre" and a "painful" tragedy.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, the AIMIM chief said his party stands firmly with the victims and prays for the swift recovery of those injured.
