In a significant relief for Pakistani nationals currently residing in India, the Ministry of Home Affairs has modified its earlier directive and extended permission for their return to Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border until further notice.
The latest government order comes just a day after the previously issued April 30 deadline for border closure had raised concerns among individuals awaiting repatriation.
“The order has been reviewed and, in partial modification, it is now ordered that Pakistani nationals may be allowed to exit India to go into Pakistan from the Integrated Check Post at Attari till further orders, with due clearance,” the Home Ministry stated in its updated notification.
