Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded the growing enthusiasm among India’s youth for endurance sports, commending participants of the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon held in Goa. The event witnessed hundreds of athletes testing their physical and mental limits through swimming, cycling, and running across scenic coastal routes.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister praised the young participants and expressed joy over the presence of several emerging political leaders in the event.
“Congratulations to everyone who took part. Delighted that two of our young party colleagues, Annamalai and Tejasvi Surya, are among those who have successfully completed the Ironman Triathlon,” Modi wrote.
The Ironman 70.3 Goa is one of India’s most challenging athletic competitions, consisting of a 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling, and a 21.1 km run. The event has become a symbol of India’s growing interest in endurance sports and fitness-driven lifestyles.
