PM Modi To Address Nation At 8 PM Amid Growing Calls For Transparency On Operation Sindoor And Ceasefire

In a highly anticipated address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak to the nation at 8 PM today—his first public statement since the launch of Operation Sindoor, India’s retaliatory military action targeting terror infrastructure across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Prime Minister’s address comes against the backdrop of rising political pressure from opposition leaders who have demanded a special session of Parliament to debate the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, India’s response through Operation Sindoor, and the subsequent ceasefire agreement reached with Pakistan over the weekend.

Earlier on Monday, the Indian Armed Forces held a joint media briefing offering a detailed account of Operation Sindoor. The strikes, launched on May 7, targeted nine terror sites and were carried out with surgical precision, military officials said.

Air Marshal AK Bharti, speaking at the briefing, dismissed speculative media reports suggesting that Indian forces had attacked Pakistan’s nuclear storage facility at Kirana Hills. “There was no such target during Operation Sindoor. These rumours are baseless,” he stated, emphasizing the professionalism and restraint shown by the armed forces.
