BJP leader and Member of Parliament Sambit Patra has launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, referencing his recent comments in Boston and the ongoing National Herald case.
Addressing the media, Patra reminded that both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi secured bail in 2018 in connection with the National Herald case. He pointed to the fact that the bail was granted on a surety of ₹50,000 each.
"They were celebrating after getting the bail, and at that time, we also said that this was nothing but just a celebration of corruption," said Patra. He accused the Congress party of continuing to glorify the moment, suggesting it reflects a disregard for accountability.
Rahul Gandhi's recent trip to the United States has attracted political attention, particularly his statements in Boston about the state of Indian democracy and electoral processes. The BJP has frequently criticized Gandhi for making such remarks on foreign soil.
Patra further alleged that Congress is attempting to present the legal proceedings in the National Herald case as a political vendetta, rather than acknowledging the gravity of the charges involved. “They are not going to be spared,” Patra warned, reiterating the BJP's stance that legal action will proceed without political interference.
