Delhi Minister Ashish Sood on Tuesday said the city government has adopted a hands-on approach to governance, ensuring that problems related to cleanliness, infrastructure and civic development are addressed directly rather than being shifted between departments.

Speaking about ongoing inspections and development initiatives, Sood said senior ministers and top government officials are regularly visiting different parts of the capital to monitor work on the ground. “Every week, our ministers and senior government officials visit two to three places to inspect cleanliness and other development works,” he said, highlighting the government’s focus on accountability and field-level assessment.

Referring to issues he has addressed in his role as a legislator, the minister spoke about long-pending local problems that were finally resolved. “In the past year, I have addressed several issues as an MLA, including the growing trees that had been restricted for decades, which provided shade and safety to the people,” Sood said, noting that such measures have improved both public safety and quality of life.

He assured residents that the Delhi government is committed to resolving civic grievances across departments, including those related to the Municipal Corporation. “I want to assure the public that whether it is the Municipal Corporation or any other department, under the Delhi government, we will resolve all problems,” he said.

Emphasising a shift in governance culture, Sood added that blame-shifting would no longer be tolerated. “Passing the responsibility onto others is now a thing of the past. We will take responsibility ourselves and work to reduce the difficulties faced by the people of Delhi,” he said.
