In a move that resonates with the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the renaming of 15 places across four districts of the state. Speaking on the occasion, CM Dhami stated, "People were waiting for a long time that the names of those places should be kept in accordance with public sentiments, public expectations, and the culture there. People’s faith in the original form of Devbhoomi should increase... people have also welcomed it."
The renaming of the following locations is a step towards aligning the state's geography with its cultural legacy:
