In a heart-wrenching incident that has shaken Haryana's Panchkula, seven members of a family originally from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, died by suicide inside a parked car in Sector 27 late Monday night. The tragic discovery was made around 10 pm, and police have since recovered a two-page suicide note revealing the grim reason behind the collective death.

According to officials, the note written by the family patriarch states that the family was driven to suicide due to overwhelming financial distress. He confessed that they were bankrupt and blamed himself for the situation. The man also requested that no trouble be caused to his father-in-law and stated that the last rites of the family should be performed by his maternal uncle’s son.

The deceased include the man, his wife, their three children, and his elderly parents. The family had been residing in a rented house in Panchkula.

On the day of the incident, the family attended a spiritual event held by Bageshwar Dham's Baba Dhirendra Shastri in Panchkula. Instead of returning home, they parked their Hyundai Aura vehicle in Sector 27 and took the extreme step inside the car.

Passersby, noticing the immobile car with people inside, approached and found the man in the driver’s seat still conscious but trembling and in critical condition. He reportedly told them that the family was crushed under a mountain of debt, which led to their tragic decision. Local residents immediately alerted the police.

All seven family members were rushed to a private hospital, where six were declared dead on arrival. The head of the family, initially found alive, was referred to another hospital but later succumbed.
