On the final day of campaigning for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a massive rally in Jale, Darbhanga, where he delivered a fiery speech targeting the Opposition, particularly Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Shah accused the Congress and RJD of siding with infiltrators, saying, “Two and a half months ago, Rahul Gandhi came to Bihar and took out a ‘Save Infiltrators Yatra’. Lalu Yadav and Rahul Gandhi want to protect infiltrators, but the BJP will identify and remove them one by one.”
The Home Minister urged voters to reject the “era of jungle raj” that, according to him, marked the 15-year rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. “Bihar has seen 15 years of jungle raj once. The same model is being pushed again. The NDA’s mission is to stop its return and ensure Bihar’s progress. Your role is to press the lotus button and strengthen this vision,” Shah told the crowd.
Highlighting the NDA government’s achievements, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided free medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh for over 3.6 crore people in Bihar under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He also mentioned the inauguration of Bihar’s second IT Park in Darbhanga, which he said will open new employment avenues for youth in Mithila.
Shah further said that PM Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have credited ₹10,000 to the accounts of 1.41 crore Jeevika Didis, women associated with self-help groups, and alleged that Lalu Yadav’s party wants to reverse these benefits. “Tell Lalu Yadav — neither he nor his next three generations can take that money back. And if NDA forms the government again, ₹2 lakh will be deposited into Jeevika accounts in the next five years,” he declared.
The Union Minister also launched a scathing attack on the RJD and Congress over alleged corruption, listing several scams that took place during previous regimes — including the fodder scam, land-for-jobs scam, and flood relief scam. He added that “while Congress was involved in corruption worth ₹12 lakh crore, there has not been a single allegation against Modi ji in 11 years or Nitish ji in 20 years.”
With Bihar heading to polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, Shah’s address marked a significant push in NDA’s campaign narrative — focusing on development, women’s empowerment, and national security. The counting of votes will take place on November 14.
