Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Wednesday welcomed the unanimous decision of the NDA legislative party to re-elect Nitish Kumar as its leader, setting the stage for his swearing-in as Bihar Chief Minister once again. Speaking after the meeting, Paswan said the alliance has been entrusted with a strong mandate and now carries the responsibility to deliver on its promises.
Paswan noted that the people of Bihar had placed their faith not only in the NDA’s candidates but also in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Nitish Kumar’s governance experience. Emphasising the weight of public trust, he said, "Once again, in the NDA legislative party meeting, CM Nitish Kumar was elected as the leader of the NDA legislative party. The manner in which the people of Bihar gave a massive mandate to NDA candidates, to the idea of PM Narendra Modi, to the experience of CM Nitish Kumar and by trusting 'Bihar First, Bihari First', it is now our responsibility to meet the trust of people. After the oath ceremony tomorrow, all efforts will be made to fulfill the promises that we made in our sankalp patra one by one and soon..."
The NDA’s decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections has been widely viewed as an endorsement of both development-focused governance and the campaign message of “Bihar First, Bihari First”. Paswan said the alliance would start working on its commitments immediately after Thursday’s oath-taking ceremony, assuring that each promise in the party’s sankalp patra would be pursued in a time-bound manner.
